Does anybody have any experience with this elective? Sounds pretty interesting.

Thanks in advance

I don't know anything about this program in particular but given St Vincent's catchment area I would imagine it would be the best hospital in Australia to do an HIV elective at...

A friend of mine did it. She loved it. Good exposure. Good teaching, friendly environment. Excellent public transport to the area. Probably not a good area to stay in.

She said that the hours were flexible, so you don't have to live in the hospital during your elective unless you want too. She was a visiting student.

Hope that helps.

When can you start doing an elective?

I'm going to study medicine at USyd next yr and particularly interested in HIV. This elective sounds so tempting.
I know that St Vicents hosp is not affiliated with USyd.
Can you still do it though?

You can still do it I presume but during your elective time, which I think will occur in 4th year.
