I had my interview on Feb.7 and I found out I was accepted on the 22nd. I received an email. You should call the OT department because the person who interviewed me said I would find out in 2 weeks from the date of the interview.

Hi, their probably going to ask questions like how did you find out about ot, what is ot, why did you chose ot, what is occupation, why howard, what do you expect from the program, the schools mission statement, 2 scenario questions, and 2 interpretation questions. Make sure you have questions ready to ask the interviewer after. Do your research about the school and the program. Good luck!!!

During the first semester classes started
Monday - 11:30am
Tuesday - 8:30am
Wednesday - 11:30am
Thursday - 9:10am
Friday - 8:30am

I tried to upload a chart of the schedule that I have but I cannot figure out how to. Although this was our schedule for the first semester, it may not necessarily be yours. You will be taking the same classes as are shown on the HUOT website but there is no way to be sure if they will hold them at the same time. Classes this semester start at different times as well.

As far as financial aid, I know there are quite a few scholarship opportunities but at around $15,000/semester in tuition only, most people paid for majority of their bills with loans. These loans are through the government, not Howard. You can take out a certain amount in regular loans (whatever they offer you) and then if it is not enough to cover what you need you can take out additional money with a studentplus loan.

I know a few people that worked a few hours a week but I think their grades suffered for it. The first semester basically revolves around Anatomy. You will spend hours and hours in the lab and studying the book. I would strongly advise that you do not try to work during your first semester. If you make it through the first semester and you feel like you can juggle everything, then by all means go for it. The first semester and everything that comes along with it will be a shock. I don't know if this is true for all masters programs but you will definitely need to adjust to the amount of work given.
