IM/EM Programs

[NYCPRDOC]

Is there anyone currently pursuing this combined specialty or has any plans of doing so? Would you mind shedding some light on how competitive/popular they are (I know that there are only 11 ACGME programs nationwide), what your personal experience in this program has been like, what your plans are upon completion, where other graduates have ended up, etc. I have an idea of what these programs entail -- I'm just looking to read some personal accounts of what it's really been like for some of you. Any feedback would be useful; if you yourself aren't in said program, but you know someone who is, his/her story would also be greratly appreciated. Thanks.
