Interview Junk

I did a search to see if this question has already been answered, and I didn't find any.

I have scheduled some interviews already and am waiting to hear back from other programs. A few of the programs are a long way from where I live, and they are close to each other. Is it okay to contact a program that hasn't offered me an interview yet and ask if they will interview me at the same time when I will be in the area? Is this bad form, or is it okay?

I've got the same thing going on too. However, I've been told by a few they're waiting for Nov. 1.
