When a pharmacy sells its files to a chain and shuts down, what is the industry standard? How much do chains usually pay for the RX files? I've heard it can be a significant amount of money, but I have yet to find any specifics.

Yes, there is. I'm willing to answer this question if you PM me, but, the requirement is that you identify the circumstances of this question as you cannot be the authorized vendor (if you really are prepharm) unless you possess the NPI for the profession that is selling the records due to Stark II on conflict-of-interest. This is a routinely taught matter in Pharm Administration. So, if you're not a pharmacist, the question's answer has no relevance to you.
