Dear collegues,
I wrote a meta-analysis based on published papers whose data sources were the NSQIP (American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement), UHC (University HealthSystem Consortium) and NSIP (Nationwide Inpatient Sample) databases. Now I'm wondering if I need some permission to pool and analyze these data on my paper, given that there is a fee to access such databases.
Generally speaking, do I need consent from original authors to use their data on my meta-analysis? Thank you in advance.
