Theoretical question: If a pill bottle had all the required label information for the drugs it contained, in theory could multiple drugs legally be dispensed into that one bottle?

If it was a "compound", then maybe. Just get the doc to write for a mixture of pills.

why would you ever want to do this? Legal or not, this would be a lawsuit just waiting to happen.

Hell no. I wouldn't even do that if it was considered legal.

It can be done with blister packs if specific requirements are met. That way rather than go through a bunch of bottles, the patient opens one blister in the morning, they take the 6 pills in it, they open another blister at bedtime, take those 5 pills, etc.

No way I would do it with a vial though, you have to hope they fish the right pill out of the mixture at the right time.

What about multiple manufactures of a single drug in a vial? Legal?

Not if your state requires the manufacturer name on the label.
