Hey Guys,
I am a non traditional student. I graduated from a Big research university with a 3.24cGPA and 3.24sGPA and MCAT 31O. I conducted full-time research for 2 years following graduation. I applied once for entry in 2013 but was not successful. I enrolled in a SMP and procured a 3.96/4.00 GPA.
I grew up in a different country and moved to the US for college(cultural competency?)
I have good EC activities:
Research 3 years UG and 2 years post grad-2 publications and 1 more being submitted this summer
Volunteering at a hospital (120 hours)
Shadowing experience(about 400 hours)
Tutor and youth outreach for science(around 500 hours)
I held jobs throughout my college career(worked around ~20 hours a week throughout the academic year and full-time during the summer)
Played 'Cricket' for 3 years in college
I have several awards(academic,non academic and a research grant)
I am applying broadly to MD schools increase my chances but I am very curious to know what know or have to say about SMP GPA's and how seriously they are looked at over the uGPA.
Additionally, does anyone have any suggestions to maximize my chance of interviewing this cycle.
@Goro @LizzyM @gyngyn : I would really appreciate your suggestions/comments
