Hey Guys,
I am a non traditional student. I graduated from a Big research university with a 3.24cGPA and 3.24sGPA and MCAT 31O. I conducted full-time research for 2 years following graduation. I applied once for entry in 2013 but was not successful. I enrolled in a SMP and procured a 3.96/4.00 GPA.
I grew up in a different country and moved to the US for college(cultural competency?)
I have good EC activities:
Research 3 years UG and 2 years post grad-2 publications and 1 more being submitted this summer
Volunteering at a hospital (120 hours)
Shadowing experience(about 400 hours)
Tutor and youth outreach for science(around 500 hours)
I held jobs throughout my college career(worked around ~20 hours a week throughout the academic year and full-time during the summer)
Played 'Cricket' for 3 years in college
I have several awards(academic, non academic and a research grant)

I am applying broadly to MD schools increase my chances but I am very curious to know what know or have to say about SMP GPA's and how seriously they are looked at over the uGPA.

Additionally, does anyone have any suggestions to maximize my chance of interviewing this cycle.
@Goro @LizzyM @gyngyn : I would really appreciate your suggestions/comments

US citizen and SMP has some linkage but they don't acknowledge it in writing. NY state resident and based on the statistic from my program they say I have 70% chance of getting in...but I'm still wary of that because I guess its not clear to me as to how adcoms treat SMP GPAs alongside with Ugrad GPAs

Seems like you'd be a good candidate for DO schools. Are you open to this?

I am applying to 5 DOs as well.
In total 41 schools-- 36 MDs and DOs

Have you already applied to all of these?

I have applied to a few of these. My state schools(NY state), VCU,EVMS,NYMC,Albany,BU,Tufts and Tulane but I plan on submitting the others very soon.

Delete Tulane, USC and BU.
You will still have plenty of reaches (e.g. Einstein)where you will at least stand a chance.
Are you a re-applicant at any of these?

I am a reapplicant to Tulane, BU and Einstein. I had an opportunity to discuss my previous application with the Dean at Tulane earlier this year. She was happy with my improvement and encouraged applying if I was able to do well in my SMP. Same situation with BU where I was encouraged to apply contingent on my SMP grades. I'll remove USC from my list though. Do you recommend any others schools I should apply to? I was looking in OUWB.

You have more than any sane person can write secondaries for already!

I understand but I am committed :)
Fortunately 13 of the schools either have no additional or very short essays for secondaries.
