Hi everyone! I received my step 1 scores, I got a 227 on step 1 and a 576 on comlex 1. I was expecting a bit higher but I am happy especially with the comlex score. According to the 2012 report, the average for orthopedic was 574. I was wondering if I atleast have a foot in the door and just have to show that I am a great candidate during auditions or if it is a long shot? I've wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon since middle school so I'm going to try unless if there really is no shot. Thanks so much for any advice, good or bad!

You'll be fine. Audition rotations are the most important aspect at most programs. Come prepared, read, LEARN / LISTEN, show growth, and above all, be a great person that works hard and we would want to have a beer with.
