NYU Waitlist

I'm waitlisted at NYU and it's my #1 choice. I sent a Letter of Intent at the ending of February and I'm about to send them another letter updating them on what I'm doing and to re-express my continued interest.

However, does anyone know if calling the admissions office helps too (i.e. do they add a little check mark to your name whenever you call)? I heard that Jefferson does that.

Also, does anyone know when NYU starts pulling people's names off the waitlist?

They start taking people off the waitlist in may.

While on the subject, does anybody have a guess as to how many people are still on the waiting list? The last information I have was back when the letters were sent in late February and people were posting that the list would have anywhere from 150 to 900 applicants on it.
