Do you think medical assisting at a podiatry office would be viewed highly as a gap year experience?

The person is a licensed provider with a practice limited to the foot and ankle but caring for patients within the parameters of that license. I don't see it as a problem any more than assisting in a dentist's office would be a problem. It may help you better answer the question "why medicine" and may help you decide that podiatry is where it's at, which wouldn't be a bad thing either.
