Hi sdn
I am a US citizen that by stroke of fate graduated from a school not accredited by the ADA, right now I have 2 offers one is admission into advanced standing into an accredited DDS program that will last another 3 year and about 200k in debt the other is a prosthodontics residency program that will also last for 3 years but i will be limited to practice only in certain states and only as a specialist pls I need advice on what path to follow, I am thinking in the long term, will I be successful in private practice? If I follow the residency route? Do you guys perceive me having any resistance from GP’s in terms of referral?

If you are good in what you do and establish a good relationship with GP's, I don't think they will discriminate against you. I would certainly refer you, of course, in 4 years from now. Even though, GP’s hardly ever refer patients to Prostho’s.

But being limited in only practicing in certain areas, might take away from your freedom.

As the other person mentioned, you will get a much better answer in dentaltown.com.

Good Luck
