Questions about EM/CCM

Hello! I'm going into my last year of college and have some questions regarding Emergency medicine and Critical care. I know i have a while before I have to choose anything, I'm just curious. So my question is how do emergency medicine physicians who also do critical care split their time between the two? What are their schedules like? Does doing both have any affect on compensation? How about job satisfaction? Just that kind of stuff. Thanks for any replies.

Most end up picking one of the other after several years. Compensation is similar between the two. In some places, you'll find better pay in EM, some better pay in CC. Both have high burn-out. Split depends on what your practice will allow.
