I am all set to start at CCOM in a month or so and wanted to know if anyone has information on the RIC Externship during the summer after year one of medical school. I have read all of the info on Northwestern's website but wondered if somebody had any personal experience with this program. On face value, it seems like a good opportunity to get exposure to the field and set yourself up for possible rotations later in school. How competitive, etc.? Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

it's a great, great program. you will get a lot of exposure to inpatient rehab and outpatient if you want as well. i was a part of it this past summer.

make sure you apply early; it is getting much more competitive in recent years.
