Has anyone received a reason why some schools don't interview? I would think that every program would want to do their due diligence to make sure the applicant best fits with the faculty and the current students

Texas Woman's University gave me two reasons: 1) The research shows that interviews are not a good predictor of a person's chance of success in PT school, 2) They don't want an interviewer to unconsciously choose people who are more like themselves, or have a perception that someone will or will not "fit in". They think not interviewing increases the chance of having a more diverse class of students.

Touro University Nevada doesn't. I don't think Eastern Washington does either.

  1. Because it is a HUGE expense to applicants and faculty.
  2. Research shows that it is not a great method of selecting students
  3. More emphasis is placed on essay and LOR, which is great for applicants who don't have impeccable stats.
I think interviews will become less common in the near future

Actually, none of the schools in MA require interviews with the exception of MGH.

University of Wisconsin-Madison, but it's still quite competitive!
