Hi All!

I noticed that most DO schools ask for a reference from a DO. Since I am already working in a medical facility and studying full-time, I cannot afford the time to volunteer at a hospital where I can meet a DO. Can anyone advice on the best way to obtain a reference from a DO?

I also wonder if you can suggest some good book titles on the philosophy of osteopathic medicine and holistic medicine?

Thanks a lot in advance

You don't have to be a hospital volunteer in order to meet and spend time with a DO. All you need to do is find someone willing to let you shadow them a few times. To find a DO in your area, just pick up the yellow pages. Also, you have to FIND the time to do the things you need to do. Believe me, as busy as you THINK you are now, it's nothing compared to what med school will be like.
