SIU dental students from before 2020 pandemic, do you get points off your grade for skipping lectures? Is lecture attendance mandatory?

I know lecture is online now due to covid for DMD students, but will attendance become mandatory do you think for future students? I think I study better by studying lecture notes on my own instead of going to class. Also like to sleep in sometimes and make breakfast. Also do you have group based learning? Thanks alot.
