okay, I recieved this email from Xavier University SOM in San Francisco stating that the medical school does not require an applicant to take the MCAT. I thought of it as some sort of scam..... because I am naive whenever it comes to these things. So I wanted to know if any of you guys heard about it. I guess I could look it up in my new MSAR but I am too tired to crawl upstairs and get it.

Brett's correct. It's not an AAMC, LCME-Accredited US med school.

There are some med schools in the Caribbean that are well established (e.g., SGU, Ross, AUC, and Saba). XUSOM is very new and not well established.

It would be risky to attend the school at this point.
