PhD/PsyD statement of professional goals for post doc position

I'm applying for a research post doc position, and along with my application I'm supposed to submit a statement of professional goals. I know that teaching and research statements for faculty positions are quite extensive, but I'm not sure whether I'm expected to write something so in-depth for this type of job. Can anybody weigh in on what this researcher might be looking for?
