Hey, I was just wondering how necessary it is to do extensive research for admissions to dental programs and how to go about getting a good project. Most research postings I've found require students to have a certain GPA (3.6+ mostly) to even apply. I'm a junior now at NYU and my grades for the first year...well, sucked. I'm in the B.A/D.D.S program here but I don't know how long they'll keep me because they have been very ambiguous about their decision. I've been on a steep uphill curve since freshman year, but I might still have to apply to dental schools if the program decides to let me go. Thanks!

Just Email profs you're interested in working in (doesn't have to be dental-related), say you want to volunteer, outline the experience you do have, and a prof will bite eventually.
