What is the difference between a unit dose container and a unit dose package? My review book gives separate definitions that sounds identical. IS there a real difference?

are you sure you are not talking about a unit dose vs a unit of use?

Nope. That is exactly how my book phrases it, "unit dose container" and "unit dose package".

From Long & Lipton:

"A unit dose container holds a single dose of a drug that is not to be administered parenterally and is administered directly from the container."

"A unit dose package contains a particular dose ordered for a patient"

Thank you, I think that helped. In a nutshell, the main difference is that unit dose packages are patient specific while unit dose containers are not.
