Michigan schools should be interested in you. I would look at schools that have affinity groups for students similar to you. Cross-list AMMSA chapters.

They are rural-focused from what I understand. You have good chances at UMich, and the some of the others are located in or near cities that you'd probably like over CMU's location (Wayne State, Oakland, Michigan State)

gotcha! probably would not be a good fit for CMU then. If I get into umich im going there no matter what but if I did not, i would enjoy WSU, OUWB, and MSU.
