I received my MCAT score today and am beginning to decide whether I should apply in the 2024-2025 application cycle. Any honest feedback on my application/weaknesses/school list suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

GPA: cGPA: 3.94, sGPA: 3.93 Bio major
MCAT: 520 (131/128/132/129)
T20 #1 Public School
White Female
California resident

Paid Clinical Experience: 400 hours working as an ophthalmic technician.
Volunteer Clinical Experience: 280 hours volunteering as a scribe/medical assistant in a primary care clinic, 100 hours general hospital volunteer (patient transport, answering phones, etc) (380 total)
Research 2000 hours. Worked in a wet lab setting in molecular biology and cancer research. 3 Pubs + 1 poster (none first author).
Shadowing 40 hours in primary care (will hopefully add more before applying)
Non-clinical volunteering: 200 hours volunteering with cancer patients - very meaningful. 50 hours volunteer biology instructor for my school.
Leadership: Health promotion in residence halls for 2 years, have leadership position ~ 200 hours.
Other: On-campus paid employment working at another lab ~ 500 hours.
Awards: Dean's list 1 semester, honors all other semesters.

Thanks in advance! :)

I mean I'm new around here but you should definitely apply this cycle.

WiIl you get into Harvard? You have a shot, but these days, it seems like you have to be Nelson Mandela to pull that off. Will you get into a US MD school somewhere? I'd think so, with those stats and ECs.

Definitely try to shadow some more though. But you've prepared very well!

One caveat- I'm not sure how much more competitive CA schools are than my neck of the woods, so if somebody with more knowledge there could chime in that'd be great.

I suggest these schools with your stats:
UCSD
UCSF
UCLA
UC Irvine
UC Davis
Stanford
USC Keck
Kaiser
Washington University (in St. Louis-almost a guaranteed interview with your stats)
St. Louis
Northwestern
U Michigan
Ohio State
Case Western
Cincinnati
Vanderbilt
USF Morsani
Emory
Duke
U Virginia
Georgetown
Johns Hopkins
U Penn
Pittsburgh
Hofstra
Einstein
Mount Sinai
NYU
Columbia
Cornell
Yale
Harvard
Brown
Dartmouth
Boston University
Tufts
Mayo
