I already posted a thread like this in the osteopathic section, but decided to give it a whirl in this section!
My gpa was horrible my first two years of college due to a random illness. But after a lot of work I was able to raise it, but wish it could be higher.
Application EC and Achievements:
I was dean listed two consecutive semesters while taking 20+ credits last year.
I have over 1000 hours in community service.
100 hours in doctor shadowing.
over 600 hours in research.
I also worked full time throughout college and have great leadership skills due to my managerial position.
and great LOR's
I am applying to every school, but my dream school is MSU com.
My science gpa is my down fall: 2.85
Non Science: 3.37
Cumulative: 3.21
MCAT #1 (an embarrassment): 17 (PS: 7 BIO: 5 VR: 5)
MCAT #2: 28 (PS: 12 BIO: 8 VR: 8)
Note: I took my first MCAT as purely practice (I wanted to see what the testing situation was like), but I accidentally pressed the score button instead of the void button.
Do you guys think I have a good chance at any of the DO schools? I should also mention I am a MI resident.
