Too small of an N. This doesn't seem to be that accurate. No one is ranking Penn?

I think n=49 is sufficient power given the applicant pool is only arround 400-500. However, the internet may have introduced a selection bias (ie.. are more SDN users from Texas?)

Still, the fact that 10% of all responses went for UTSW indicates that there is something different about that program that does not reflect its #44 position on the 82 list.


It was ranked #26 on US News best hospitals for Neurology. Sorry, just commenting on the statistical outlier. I need to give some other programs attention too.

I am not buying this at all..Northwestern has had a horrible program for years which was even on probation about a decade ago...Clearly, this voting has more to do with personal preferences than with quality..

You're right, but isn't that sort of the point--to rank programs based on our own preferences (reputation, size, location, academic vs clinical)?
You alone are the master of your own ranking criteria, what is #1 for you may be completely different for another.

Yeah I think the old 82 is not as relevant as the "new 82 list". But I dont get the UTMB selection!!
