Thank you, how did you find out about this?

I looked at the stats:

School.........DAT (Rank)...........GPA (Rank)
UOP.............20.8 (#5)..............3.32 (#52)
Columbia.......21.8 (#2)..............3.5 (#29-35)

Go to predents.com and use "Sort Schools By"

For UCLA both GPA and DAT scores are important (especially science GPA and total science score). I think last year TS avg was ~21.86 but AA avg was around 21.6. Science GPA was also higher than overall GPA.

Selection factors: (http://uclasod.dent.ucla.edu/admissions/index.asp?id=345#selection)

1. Scholastic record

2. Aptitude for science demonstrated by academic record and the DAT

3. Academic performance on DAT, in particular, the PAT portion of the exam to determine spatial aptitude

4. English composition performance on DAT, especially for English as a Second Language applicants

5. Manner in which scholastic record was achieved, i.e., course load, breadth of the courses of study, extracurricular activities, and work experience

6. Substantive letters of recommendation (minimum of 3)

7. Personal Interview

i'm still not convinced ;)
