I'm seeing some applicants post their secondary videos on YouTube. Was it required? I'm not sure if I missed something, but it's nice to watch these videos lol. Some students ggotten really creative, pretty cool!

I posted mine on YT but made it private so only people with the link could see it. Def not required tho

I’m glad that an typed essay was an option and didn’t have to post a video lol. Still got an interview and then placed on WL a week-ish later
I heard their WL movement is excellent. Pray for WL >> A soon for you ❤️
Do you mind me asking, in your opinion.. what makes the difference between WL and A?

I honestly don't know... my guess could be my MCAT score is on the lower end. However, my interview (IMO) went very well with the interviewer hoping to see my face in the Fall 2025.

If there's any current students on here, how's life in Provo as a non-LDS?
Current OMS-1. Tbh being non-LDS isn’t an issue. I haven’t encountered any issues. I will say that one thing I’ve learned is that there are certain “wordings” that would be fine if you’re not from around here, but it is not the most appropriate to say it. For example, if there were quite a few kids and someone were to make a comment about how many there were (as an observation or just to say “there are so many cute kids”), this would not really be appropriate to say around here from what I’ve gathered. That’s just one thing I have to be a little bit mindful of. It’s something that you just learn as you go. Another thing is I encountered some missionaries who will go around and preach and so it’s possible one may approach you (I have been approached once) so just be aware. Other than that, there really isn’t any thing else. Not really big problems or issues I would say overall

Is the school itself pretty LDS heavy?

I’m not really even sure how many people within my class are LDS, tho half our class is from Utah and many did go to undergrad in Utah (BYU, UVU, etc). It’s not really been brought up tbh. As for staff/faculty/administration I would some are LDS, but again, I wouldn’t know since it hasn’t been brought up. Overall, it’s pretty diverse tho just looking at where everyone is from (location, ethnicity, etc)

Awesome, do you mind me asking.. How's your transition from undergraduate to first semester of medical school? What have you found to be successful in helping ease the transition?
The transition wasn’t too bad. First course we had was biochemistry so it was a lot of review mixing with some new stuff and they eased us in. Now we’re doing anatomy and physiology and the pace has really picked up and there’s a lot going on. I think the biggest thing that has helped is to divide my time up and set aside a certain amount of time to cover each thing. The first week of anatomy and physiology was definitely the most stressful just because there was so much content for the lecture part (which covers physiology, histology, embryology) plus memorizing everything for anatomy lab while also continuing to learn/practice OMM and clinical skill lab. Suggest allowing time for each thing has really helped and also asking my pod mates for help or even other people that I know to go practice stuff or whatever.

Gotcha, thanks for the insights!

how long did it take y'all between sending your secondary and hearing back regarding an interview?
I’m not sure about the soonest, but I’m assuming as soon as a week or a “couple” weeks. But for me last cycle, I received and submitted Noorda’s secondary in November and got an interview in mid May.
