How do you improve in CARS? What are some regular things to do for regular practice? What helped you improve the most?

I was struggling with CARS too and was able to pull my scores up from a 124 baseline to consistently scoring ~129. It takes a long time but it's doable if you're consistent and put in the time.
  1. I read convoluted passages daily on anything I can grab my hands on.
  2. I found these games that help you improve your CARS on the MCAT, basically helps you get better at finding the main idea and reading speed.
  3. I tried different strategies until I found one that worked best for me. When I tried to read the whole passage at once, I struggled, so I started breaking the passages down into two parts and that helped me understand the passage better. Just do trial and error until you find a strategy that works best for you, because what worked for someone else may not work for you.

You could try one passage a day and leave yourself time to go over it. After reading, sum up what the author is trying to say in one sentence.

Spend extra time on questions you missed or guessed. Why did your choice seem right, and what did you overlook? Work through why the correct answer fits, then jot down mistakes you keep making so you have something specific to watch for next time. If timing is making it hard to think, try a few untimed passages, then build toward timed practice.

Hope this helps!
