But, I just want to say that the official policy of medical schools is that you have to take the courses at ANY accredited college. Community colleges are accredited so you would meet the policy. Now, whether or not they look down upon this--I personally think very few of us can really say seeing as we are not on admissions committees. Their is the stigma of community college and of course you would want to do well in these courses and ensure an A in all of them.
What many people don't realize is that sometimes you don't have a choice. For some people it comes down to money. As for me, I work full-time as an engineer and had to complete my pre-reqs as a non-trad around my work schedule. Community College in the evenings was the only option for me, and so far, I have recieved a very favorable response from the schools I have applied to. Would I have preferred to take it at a 4-year institution? Sure, thats a no brainer, but it wasn't an option.
Make the best decision for your personal circumstances and move forward.
I think it depends on the school. Some adcoms have a perceived notion about community colleges and others do not. I would talk to the school and find out.
By the way, I go to a community college and I know it is an excellent education. 👍
