Well, I thought I'd start another thread!! What has been your toughest class so far and what is your major? 🙂
Class: Anatomy and physiology, Major: Biology (no minor)

toughest so far:

Upper Division Mammalian Physiology taught by supposedly the hardest professor at my university. I also took it over Summer so it was a 10 week course compressed even more into 6 weeks.

I learned SO much in such a small amount of time...but i also got owned in the process haha

Quantitative Physiology, Major: Biomedical Engineering

Basically a course in mathematically modeling biological processes

polymer engineering physical chemistry

Ding! Ding! Ding! You win! Sounds like something that might be banned under the Geneva Conventions for cruelty. I can't figure out if chemistry and engineering majors are really smart to have made it through this kind of stuff, or really dumb for taking it in the first place....jk. God bless you guys.

O-chem. At community college, oddly enough. I did well but it required at least twice as much work as any other class to date.

Calculus was a close second, but i have struggled in most every math class I ever took.

Anthropology major.

Analytical Chemistry
Taken in the summer, 8 hrs of lab a week, eww!
Major: Microbiology

Biochemistry

Cell Biology

I'd take engineering courses over these any day...

Biochemistry.

...and i would NOT exchange this stuff for engineering...as hard as life sciences are, engineering/chemical engineering takes balls

Majors: Biochemistry & Philosophy

as odd as it may sound, the "cultural diversity" course that I am taking right now is far harder than any of the upper division sciences I have taken... seems like ti draws on sociological theories that I have had no prior experience with.

-genetics, cell bio, and development major

Masterpieces of British Literature

Reason: I didn't go to class for a month because I thought it was a very easy class and it was until the day of final exam

Major: Physiology
Minor: Japanese

Mine too,

Eukaryotic Cell structure/function would be a close second.

Numerical Analysis (high level math course), it was all 100% proves, we went and proved every single therom in Calc I and II.... it was a disgusting class

Major: Computer Science & minors in math

Calc for engineers

Ohh, another hard course i forgot (im OP)... Discrete Mathematics, basically WHY 2+2 =4, why it sometimes doesn't!!! Usually, Math is an easy A for me, but i barely squeaked by with a B- in that class!! It was hard, but I enjoyed it strangely enough!!

embryology. do not take this class as an ugrad. it's one of those classes that are cool to audit but never to take for a grade.

Advanced organic synthesis, "taught" by one of the most brilliant organic chemists of our time. (It mostly consisted of memorizing 4000 reactions that he knows by heart)

Cancer Biology with 1st and 2nd yr grad students

Major: Biology

Biophysical Chemistry

Completely draining my life right now.👎

Major: Biochem

i say Anthropology for me. God, that class is annoying

major Bio

Organic Chemistry by a mile. Genetics was a piece of cake. Major: Anthropology. Minor Bio

Either advanced math for engineers (Differential Equations 2) or microstructural analysis of ceramics and metals. The second was also one of my favorites interestingly enough. Anatomy and Phys and ochem were a breeze after that. I would have had close to a 4.0 if I was a bio major.

Mechanical engineer by the way.

computational neurosci; lib arts major

U.S. History, senior year of High School. There was no textbook (in High School?!?), only hours and hours of lecture. The teacher was a low talker and spoke with a sibilant "s". So all you could hear was whistling over a faint grumble. I never made it through a class without falling asleep and have the "C" to prove it. Compared to that grad school has been like recess.

Physics I, calculus-based.:scared:

Introduction to Microeconomic theory was pretty atrocious, too. He once asked the class if anyone had any idea on how a particular indifference curve would look. Nobody volunteered, so he was all grumpy and talking about how nobody wants to learn, etc. I decided to go ahead and raised my hand. He had me come up to the blackboard, where I drew what I thought it'd look like. He was like "WOW. THIS IS THE DUMBEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN. GO BACK TO YOUR SEAT."

Needless to say, neither I nor any of my classmates ever volunteered to come up to the blackboard or give an answer again.

Honors multivariable calculus and linear algebra.

No joke, this is like 10 times harder than Orgo.

Algebraic Topology with Capell. Horrible just horrible

Calculus- but I honestly think it was the professor and the fact i didn't study much since I was in physical therapy the whole semester

other than that... German Perspectives on the Holocaust was pretty crazy

biochem, biochem, biochem. a billion times harder than orgo. 👎

Undergrad: Virology and O-chem II are tied.
Med school: Pharmacology

i thought physiology and anatomy were pretty easy ........but for me the hardest subject were the physics series......i was in computer engineering so i had to take the engineering physics, if i knew i was going into medical field at that point, i would have taken the physics for science students, wayyyyy easier...........i hate physics......

For me, probably any math more advanced than calculus...or upper div statistics. Seriously, stats just doesn't make sense to me.

Hardest class I've had so far though (which doesn't say much because I just started my 3rd year but...) is ochem. Not the subject matter, but the professor we had was...really...really...horrible.
I basically had to teach myself from reading the book and then go take her crazy tests. Yuckkk.

Quantum mechanics and molecular simulation.

Actually I owned that class. 😎

I think for me, my hardest class was Transition Metal Chemistry. I always hated inorganic chemistry.

Major: Engineering Chemistry

Hardest class for me was Organic II. I took it about 10 years after Orgo I. Brilliant professor, great lecturer, tests out of Hades. 😱

Advanced organic synthesis, "taught" by one of the most brilliant organic chemists of our time. (It mostly consisted of memorizing 4000 reactions that he knows by heart)

Well... I can safely say i've had the pleasure of taking a class just like that 🙂 haha. Yeah it was tough, yeah it was a lot of memorization.

BUT at the end of it, I felt like I could make almost anything!!!!!! like some sort of a superhero. hehe

Calculus over the summer (I hate math)

Currently in Biochemistry, and that class is quickly creeping up on the "WTF List" (i.e. wait, Professor, you want me to know how many residues before that carbohydrate branches...? For what purpose?) <-- Too reductionist...

French. I thought it was a cool language but not anymore.

Bio major.

Phase and chemical equilibria, a.k.a. thermo 2

chemical engineering =(

multivar calc with nazi professor with whom i got a b in the class for forgetting units on an answer on a test.

Honors Real Analysis (all proof-based math class on the fundamentals of calculus)

Major: Math (and bio)

Tell you the truth, this ****ing Ecology and Evolution class I am taking.
The first have was evo and the material wasnt hard, but the prof was RIDICULOUS.

I have never studied so much and not got A's on the tests...
Hopefully this second half, Ecology, with a different prof will be better.

P. Chem far and above the rest. Organic is a joke to me compared to this class. Double Major: biochemistry and philosophy

Epistemology was pretty tough too.

In college, microbial genetics...

Management and Financial accounting. I had no idea what was going on in that class 😕

Major: Economics
