Are there many DO schools who are strongly biased against out of state applicants? I heard that UMDNJ, Oklahoma State, and Texas generally only take in state students. Do private DO schools have a bias towards in state students?

Add MSU and WVSOM (I believe their biases lies in tuition versus acceptance).

It is not true that UMDNJ has instate bias. They accepted me real quickly. I was OOS.

I got accepted to DMU and KCUMB. I think it depends more on your app. I did get in to PCOM and I'm a PA resident. But I know some people that are PA residents who are waitlisted at PCOM.

I would guess that many state-funded osteopathic medical schools similarly prefer in-state applicants, as allopathic medical schools do. There are, of course, some OOS students who are accepted but I would assume that they offer in-state preference.

Private osteopathic medical schools might show some preference for locals but by and large, if you're willing to pay the tuition and you're qualified, they'd be happy to have you (just like their private allopathic counterparts).

This is correct. I called the admissions office last fall, and they told me that they do not show instate preference. It can be kind of confusing though because their stats say that their students are something like 99% instate. But this is because once you get a NJ drivers license (or something simple like that), they consider you instate.
