What Questions Do YOU Ask on Your Interview?

1. When do students have their first clinic rounds? First patients?
2. Does the school participate in any community outreach around the city, like doing sealants on city gradeschoolers?
3. Can you receive in-state residency while in school (might be better for the financial people).
4. How did last years class do on the boards Part 1? How is the graduation-on-time rate?
5. What is you favorite/least favorite class while in dental school (to the student interviewers)?
6. Do you find you have much free time on weekends, how do you keep a social life?
7. What fields of research can I potentially be involved in?
8. Are lectures and old tests put online by previous classes?
9. Do i have access to the pre-clinical lab after hours and on weekends? What about libraries?
10. Is there student parking nearby, or student passes for the garage?
11. How many spots are left for the class of 2013?

Although it is always good to ask questions so that you can obtain a better grasp of the school and what it has to offer, i wouldn't focus too much of the interview time drilling the interviewer with these questions...cause in reality these questions are GENERAL and often times scripted in its delivery.
Instead, if and when you are given the opportunity to ask questions...I always asked a couple questions about the interviewer itself--that way to make things more personal. I like to think that it only helped the connection you make with the interviewer... AND don't be afraid to jump in the conversation and ask the interviewer a question before he asks you if you have any at the end ...

It might be good to think of a question where you really need the interviewer's perspective or guidance on something.
I am planning to do mostly non-profit dentistry. For my question, I asked what approach they thought would be best: if it would be better for me to donate my time, donate my services, or do a combination of both. It sparked some really good dialogue and made me happy to hear how service-oriented the faculty are.
You might consider asking how you might get involved in doing research or what the path to eventually teaching at the dental school would be, or what they like best about teaching dental students.

At my interviews, by the time I got to the actual interview part of the day, the bulk of my questions had been answered by staff who had given presentations. If you have no questions during your interview, express appreciation for those have already answered your questions throughout the day and throughout the application process.
I suppose if you have no questions, and you feel you need to ask something, you could say something to this effect: "Many schools want me because I am the bombdiggity, what can your program offer me that the others cant? Why should I go with you guys?"
