Got accepted and i cant care about grades anymore

the letter says, ur accpetance is contingent upon successfuly completing all pre requists and the degree indicated in ur aadsas
i have good grades, this semester im getting BBBCC, im still attending d school no one can revoke my acceptance ..do u guys confirm?

Don't try to risk it too much. Try to keep everything safely above a C

i feel you man...in fact i'm in the same situation...think i'm going to end up with ABBB B-/C ...the A is in physics...it's the pre-reg thing. You're fine! It's implied that Cs are good to go, but try to get B- and above. I even heard Ds are okay, but not too many Ds :laugh: :laugh: . Complete your courses means passing it.
 
im gona get a C in physics 2 which is a prerequisit, it doesnt matter though right??...plz im not asking for an opinion, im asking as a fact do u guys know?

Dude, you have a 3.97, dont screw up your sum cum laude status (3.9-4.0) over being lazy. If thats truly your gpa, you've worked 4 hard years to maintain that, just stick it out.

Why not call the dental school w/o trying to reveal your identity?

As far as I know, at least from premed applicants, you're fine if you get a C or above for all classes. Don't know about predent.

Also physics? Averages in those class can be horrible. But the teacher should weight it to about an average grade of B-, at least based on my experience from my university and from HS
 
how bad do you think it would look to get "nonsatisfactory" in a class that issues out "Satisf/non-satisf" for grades?

You know, you guys should take into consideration the feelings of those who have not gotten accepted yet. For them, grades still matter. It's not exactly nice of you to come in here bragging about how you don't care about your grades anymore.

Oh wait, that's right. As long as we're not talking about multiple acceptances it isn't bragging. My mistake. Carry on. 🙄

You know IHD, I'm starting to realize that there are two sides to you. I starting to feel that there is a flicker of darkness w/ evil red eyes.

My acceptance stated that the offer is "conditional based upon completion of remaining coursework projected in the application at a level consistent with past performance."
I wonder if this is implied for other schools. I would think if you had a 3.97 it would not be "consistent with past performance" to get all B's and 2 C's.

It says upon "successfully" completing the prerequisites. Which means getting a grade of a 'C' or better. They can still revoke your acceptance. 😛 Enjoy that acceptance. All those years of hard work are finally paying off. But don't slack off too much now.
 
i'm pretty sure that as long as you finish what you said you were going to finish than grades won't be an issue. don't fail ANYTHING though cuz it might come back to haunt you. right now i'm going to get at least a B in two classes, maybe A's, and in one class (Iimmunology) i might settle for a C cuz i can. i have to get a 10 out of 100 on my final to get a C so i'm going to study what i'm interested and skim the rest.
 
your acceptance is contingent upon sucessfully completing all of the preadmission requirements, your anticipated degree as stated on your AADSAS application and your ability to comply with the College of Dentistry's Safety and Technical Standards

i think its safe to infer that it means you have to pass !!

why would anyone want to stop working hard...i think that is in most peoples nature to bust their ass...i have been accepted and i dont think i am going to try and less but i wont care that much if i dont get an A... the other thing is why get out of practice of working hard when you are going to have to work harder than ever in a few months
 
ask kramer.... in my life there are stuff going on, and i prioritize , when studying is not a priority because it doesnt affect me -im not gonna fail dental school just cause i didnt study for physics final, or cause im working hard on music rather than studying, u c where im coming from , if someone studied hard to get into dental school, trust me they will want to get thru dental school no matter what, but catching up with money-working and enjoying hobbies, playing music stuff like that, having a social life...the point is not to just ignore physics...
 
as soon as u send ur deposit in, that school is banking on you attending... u basically have to fail a course or commit a felony for them to repeal ur acceptance. Believe it or not, a dental school is business, and once your accepted, all they worry about is you PAYING.
 
When I was in grad school, you had to get a B- or better for the grade to count towards completing any requirements. If you got a C in a required class, it counted only as an elective. That was pretty standard among all the schools to which I applied.

Now, admissions might have different rules and DDS programs might also have different rules, too. Just the same, I'd advise playing it safe and making sure you get at least a B- in any prereq. Better yet, call and find out.

Cut IHD some slack...he hasn't posted a photoshopped kitten picture on here in like 3 weeks...he has got to be going through withdrawal and it's expected that he should be a little touchy. IHD, we're here for you, we love you, and you're going to get through this. Stay strong.

Why would you be reading this thread if you haven't gotten in yet? If you ask me then you're looking to torture yourself and so hearing about other people's acceptances will just add to what you already want. I know now for my last semester I'm going to take it easy...after hard sciences all the liberal arts and core classes are easy. I'd say get a taste of what other majors experience all the time...only having to REALLY work twice a semester. Then for sciences change your attitude and take it easy...it might actually help because you remember more when you're not stressed out.

I was joking around. I do like his flickering cat face, which suddenly turns black w/ red eyes. I can't imagine how anyone could possibly have anything against IHD. If he does hurt anybody it's totally unintentional.
 
wait, wait, wait...If you commit a felony you can get your acceptance revoked? Couldn't one state clasify something as a felony and another not? How would they find out anyway?

It's wise to keep yourself humble about this. Though you have good grade, it's wise to still do your best with meekness.
 
i have zero focus y'all. i tried to study for my chinese final this morning and i couldn't do it. i got a 68 on it which gives me like a 88.5. maybe my prof will curve, but who cares?
 
There was a thread a while back about Loma Linda revoking an acceptance for prereqs being too old. Apparently, it's possible to get hooked on your way to the open net without a penalty called.

I didn't study for my final in one of my prereqs that I am in now. I already had a C if I made a 0 on the final and a B if I just scored a low grade on it.
 
I probably just pissed away an "A" and a "B" to a "B" and a "C," but I could care less. I'm going hunting and to hell with my final on Thursday.
 
so last night I took my last physics midterm, prolly studied like 30 minutes for it, got an 81, found out that the class avg was 63 so its gonna get bumped up 9 points. I love it:laugh:

i gotta read two books and write three essays by thursday...
and got another bacteriology exam on thursday...
But everything is over on Thursday...so that is awesome...

Hope I get an average for the exams../

Most schools, if not all of them besides I think Pacific, are okay with C's and up. I have talked to 6 different schools about this and they all say C's and up are the requirement.

Or you could have already graduated and not have to worry about it....then again working 40 hours a week sucks.

Did you get that info from the letter they sent out yesterday? Is that for the pre reqs only is it that for all classes?

Also if you did get that letter DDDSMACK, did it also say that you need to finish biochem, mirco, and an advanced writing class? I have already taken those so I thought it was weird they added that in at the end. I am just wondering if they sent out generic letters or do they not have my correct transcripts and scores.

Are you going to be a buckeye dddsmack?

If the course is a prerequisite course, I think most shools will want you to retake the course or else your enrollment will be deferred.

I received the letter yesterday, it was thin and 1 page (it was dated dec 7). Yeah it says finish your degree per aadsas and then they listed a bunch of classes they haven't had record of. Like Organic II and both Biology I and II and Phsyics and Biochem with a C or better. No mention of micro or writing though (I had taken those already). I assume C or better in all classes, but logic says if you failed Kayaking 300 then you can expalin it away.
