Dartmouth (TDI) vs Tufts MBS

Hello All!

Just had a quick question-I was somehow lucky enough to get into Dartmouth and Tufts, but for two different programs. Tufts is the SMP MBS program, whereas Dartmouth is the MS option (analyzing and studying health care delivery systems, a really cool program in my mind). Anyway, I want to go medical school, and I love both programs, but here are my stats, feel free to chime in either way, and thank you so much!

-cGPA: 3.4
-MCAT: 26T

Tufts, because they'll help you with the MCAT.

If your MCAT was competitive, I'd vote Dartmouth.

Thank you very much for your reply! I feel as though my MCAT is something I just need to sit down, buckle down, and study my ass off for--I was somewhat preoccupied the last time I took it, and when I sat for the exam, I just found myself extremely nervous. I feel like with more prep and some more time studying for it, it could make a significant difference. My breakdown was:
BS 8
PS 9
W 9

Does this make any difference in your answer, or not so much? Thanks again!!

The Dartmouth program is a really interesting advanced academic asset. You don't need that.

Sounds like you need a program that's going to help you with sitting down, buckling down, studying your ass off, not getting preoccupied, not getting nervous, doing prep, putting in the time. Tufts would be that.

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information about Dartmouth's MS programs. I know I'll probably need to do some sort SMP-type program after graduation, and Dartmouth's program caught my eye, and since I'm very interested in Dartmouth's med school. Do either of you know if a lot of students that go to TDI for a master's program get into, or go, to their medical school, or how many people who finish the MS get into an allopathic school?

Dartmouth's TDI MS is an advanced academic asset. It's not appropriate for a GPA comeback. Imho, if you have a 3.4 or lower, an SMP is more appropriate.

The reason there's not a lot of info here about Dartmouth's results, compared to other SMPs, is that Dartmouth TDI programs are not SMPs. The MS is a terminal masters in health care measurement and quality improvement. Is it an interesting program? You bet. Appropriate for a GPA comeback to get into med or dental school? Nope. Is it relevant for such a program to report results on its grads getting into med school? No.
