I've gone through First Aid a couple of times and a little over half of Kaplan qbank. All I want to do is pass:

QBank - overall average 45%, more recently averaging ~50%
CBT practice questions: 32, 36, 37 = 70%

According to the score estimator, my step 1 score will be 149 based on q-bank, and 214 based on the free 150 questions.

It sounds like q-bank doesn't correlate well with scores, while the free 150 questions is a little better. Based on that I have a 29 point cushion to passing, which seems pretty good to me.

Thoughts? I take this thing tomorrow.

Most people who post here get great scores. I'm sure there are a few out there who were in my situation as far as amount of preparation and pretest performance, I would like to hear from them, maybe a few others would like to as well.

And I will be sure to post my score once I get it.

Based on what I have seen you are borderline of passing.
Can you PASS the answer is yes.
Have a good night sleep today so you are fresh for tomorrow.
If you can postpone the exam to get a higher grade, then you will have a better grade.

Good luck on your test.

Go find the thread: First Aid + Kaplan QBank x 1 week = passing and see if that does anything for you

At this point I'd like to see that thread; anyone have the link?

And to the OP, you definitely have a chance to pass. Just stay calm and remember all you studied. Best of luck and hopefully you're already getting those much needed zzzzs.

I got a 209.

I know you guys are trying to be helpful, and its better to over prepare than underprepare, but many of you do not seem to know what you are talking about, yet act as if you do.

Kaplan is a poor correlator with actual USMLE scores, while the 150 free questions was just 5 points off my real score.

i think most people who score 42% on their qbank averages fail.....50%(which you were scoring) is a little dicier and is borderline.

Congrats either way. I do agree that the test in general is a lot easier than either qbank or usmleworld......

I had a similar experience to Reeves. Scored 53% on Qbank overall (estimated 162 on medfriends.org), 75% on 150 free questions (est 229) and got 223 on the real deal.

It seems I was right😀
Congrats great score

Thanks. I'm a little confused by your statement. If you think 50% on Kaplan is borderline passing, how do you explain my 209? Thats 24 points above the cut off for passing.

Based on that logic, if scoring 50% on Kaplan means someone is at risk of failing, does that mean they are also at risk of scoring a 233 (209 + 24)?

I had just as much chance at failing as I did scoring a 233. Both scenarios extremely, extremely slim.

You should post your results on medfriends so they can take them into account in the future.

Hey Reeves, I take it Monday, and my Kaplan average is 53%, although I'm closer to 55/58% these days. Thank you for posting your Qbank and the real deal... it's helping calm my heart as I cram in these last few days. And Congrats!
