Oddball topic: How do you imagine SDNers sound like?

So yeah, this is a little off topic, but I've noticed that when I read people's posts on SDN nowadays, I assign them "voices" that I imagine that the posters sound like. Some of them are unique, too. For example

  • WVUPharm2007 has a deep, nasal voice with a twang.
  • Zpacksux/Epic/ItsOverZyvox sounds like Mr T.
  • All4myDaughter sounds like Katey Sagal (don't ask why, she just does).
  • It was some time before I knew bananaface was a she, but by that time I had assigned her a male voice, so now she sounds like a guy. :laugh:
  • cheburashka does not sound like a Russian at all.
  • omnione has a voice I associate with brown-haired Caucasians (even though I know he's Asian).
  • I always thought MountainPharmD was a she (for some weird reason), so now he has a female voice.
  • PharmDstudent sounds like a younger version of Meredith Vieira.
...Perhaps I should have a check up for my mental health.😱
 
SDNers who've met me IRL or talked to me on the phone had these comments about my voice:

"Soft and gentle, kind of sweet."
"She has a cute voice."
"Like a phone sex operator." 😱

I will say that when I hear a recording of my voice it sounds much different than what I hear when I speak aloud. Much more girly.


I always picture medicalcpa looking and sounding just like one of my adopted 'brothers' (not legally adopted) who is from Rwanda. I think it's b/c the avatar looks a lot like him.

I guess I never really think of the people as having voices (since I'm reading), but I definitely am more like SexyPlexi in that I have certain images of people, probably formed subconsciously from reading their posts.

MountainPharmD is a manly man.
Chebrushka is Angelina Jolie.
Zpacksux is the nice, father-figure kind of guy.
Conversely, All4mydaughter is the pure, mother-figure.
PharmDstudent is a thin Asian girl who dislikes the idea of having children.

Wow....I am girl. I need to beef up the manliness of my posts. Perhaps more grunting or something.

I am not into assigning voices...I have a mental picture of most of the regulars......and no I am not sharing!!!

I assign SDNers voices and images. Epic/ItsOverZyvox, for example, has salt-and-pepper hair and a pot belly, even though he sounds like Mr T.

Also, since I'm not 100% sure whether loo is a guy or girl, s/he is a guy who's always in a lab coat, but has a girl's voice.

I imagine Epic to sound like John Thompson (with a law and order script. Not John Thompson at the debates ad libbing with terrible word retrieval).

I imagine SpirivaSunrise to sound like a pharmaceutical sales rep. :laugh:

I imagine myself to sound like Tony Soprano when I talk in Brooklynese.

And I'm sorta cheating on this one since I met him, but I'd imagine Caverject to sound like Hank Hill. :laugh:

Mountain Pharm.D to sound like Tommy Lee Jones.

The rest, I just imagine really nasal voices (sorry folks).

Ahhh come on....you could have lied and said you sound like Mr T!!! He is awsome. I pity the fool who doesn't like MR. T!!

Actually, I can see you resembling Face off the A-team rather than Mr T. It would stil be cool to talk like Mr T.

njac, I've not figured out your voice yet, but you have black hair and a dimpled chin.

I'll be at APhA in Spring. And I'm always down for a casino... I just got back from Vegas and won $1000 on poker. I would contemplate leaving pharm to become a professional gambler, as long as there's adequate funding...
