This may be premature, but is there anyone out there who has decided to turn down and offer of admittance due to multiple acceptances? If so, shall a list be started?
 
I was thinking about this a couple nights ago, but didn't know if it was precedented.


I'd be in support of it, but have nothing to contribute. I am very curious about Ohio admittees though...

I don't have any to post yet... I should hear from my schools in the next week or so. I will be more than happy to participate in the list when I hear, though!!

Can't officially contribute yet, but 99% sure I'll be turning down OOS spots at Penn and Tufts in the near future - hope I can help someone out!

I declined an interview at Minnesota, withdrew my app from Guelph, and declined an offer from Michigan all through e-mail - all were fine. I would have declined my OSU offer with an e-mail as well had they not provided a reply form with a "decline" option, so I just mailed that back instead.
 
thanks guys, I'll just call tomorrow. I decided on Penn! Wooo :idea:

I emailed and also mailed in the sheet that came with the acceptance letter indicating that I would not be accepting the seat. 🙂

I'm not sure when I declined at OSU, but I sent the form in a while ago. I liked it when I went for an interview, but I decided to go to my IS, I think. I also loved Kansas (I got more of a warm & fuzzy feeling there than at OSU even!) but I'll be declining soon. I never thought I'd be having a hard choice about where to go to vet school...I thought I'd be lucky to get into even one place!

Are we counting interviews declined? I thought this thread was more for those on waitlists to get an idea of how much they might expect those lists to move (although SDN is a small selective sample of all applicants...). Just wanted to be clear since I'm not sure... 😳

That's how I understood it, but it's not like I'm an authority on the matter or anything...I think it's whatever we want to make it.

The way things will probably lean, I'll probably have to turn down Iowa. I loved the school, but it's so so much more expensive than Wisconsin. :\

I'm trying to reserve judgment until I actually visit Wisconsin (so frustrating that I have to wait a month!). Can't make a move until then. I'm hoping it doesn't come down to school I like better vs. much cheaper school.

Am I total wierdo for WANTING to go to school in the middle no where?

I thought Manhattan was a nice town--definitely bigger than the town I'm now. I have to drive 25 minutes to get a town close that size!
