So I see that many programs have downloaded my app and many have not. Do programs just pick a day when they download them all, or are there specific ones they can download first? In other words, if I submit on 9/1, and my app is not downloaded by 9/15, will anyone elses app have been downloaded?

I need a cocktail...I wish this were over already.

Depends on the program. Some programs wait until the Dean's Letter is available before downloading.

-AT.

Pour me a shot of Xanax as well. I have already bitten most of my nails off. 😱

Now this is just a guess, but say you have a bazillion, or at least a couple of thousand of applications to go through...there's a 3 day weekend. So you could either spend the time going through them, or wait until Tuesday to start. I'm sure many programs do either. I'm thinking we'll hear more next week. Go enjoy the weekend yourself. Interviews aren't for a while anyways...good for those of us who need to regrow our nails 😉

Programs can choose when they download apps but they can not pick and choose what they download when they do. Anything that is new in their ERAS inbox will be downloaded when they log in. Even if they've rejected you, if you get a new Step 2 score or a new LOR after the rejection, and they log in to ERAS, it will get downloaded and show up as such when you look at ERAS. Doesn't mean they're now interested in you, just that they logged in to ERAS.

As to when programs download apps, some will do it daily, some weekly, some monthly, some once (I imagine this one is rare but certainly possible...dl the day after your deadline and start digging through the piles of BS all at once).

So WHEN they download they cannot discriminate against WHO they download?
That happens AFTER they download?

That happens AFTER they download? Meaning they can't choose to just never see your app for whatev reason (say they don't favor IMGs or osteopathic grads etc)?

Not quite true. They can, and will filter apps based on a variety of things in your app. They can't choose whether or not to download your app, but if it gets filtered out, they'll never see it.

how do you know if a program downloaded your file? Currently, mine reads:

"downloaded by school: Available but not yet retrieved."

Does this mean the file (ie LOR) was already sent to the school but not "opened"??

so if a letter is uploaded to the postoffice reads as above, but I want to assign another letter instead, does the school get both??
