Yeah... got my first official rejection letter today. Figured I'd start this... Not that I'm excited about it, but I figured we all could be depressed together

Sorry to hear everyone. I'm expecting to hear a rejection from Kansas, since I read on another thread that they're done sending out interview invites.

Try to stay positive, though :oops:

This is a ridiculous question, but what does it mean to say 'status change'?
 
LittleWiz, it is used for schools that have online admissions portals. Not all schools have them, but I did like that LSU does. Makes it easier, IMHO.

I think everyone who was rejected from a school but is now in vet school should post here for encouragement!! I was rejected from 2 schools, but accepted into 2!!

Five years ago, I was posting on the pre-vet forums, too...

I was rejected from three different residency programs (including my home program :( ), and then I got into my dream program! :D Stiff upper lip! When your fat envelope comes, it will mean that much more to you!

Yes my GPA's were not above their qualified minimum, when they say those are it, they are right.
 
It's ok, it was honestly a reach, their OOS minimums are acceptable I mean what else can you ask for, but my GPA's are not up to par, I just wish they would of overlooked it since I'm at their graduate school, and I would be a resident by matriculation, but wishes are about as good as my GPA's.. :(
 
Being IS is the only thing keeping me in the pool. I'm just hoping that they are willing to consider my performance in the world over the past 12 years over my GPA.

I'm a little confused...for the Colorado applicants, how did you have status changes so soon? My admission status thing says they wouldn't let people know until at least november, am I missing something here?
 
i was rejected from 4 schools if that makes anyone feel better!! lol it was super depressing but it worked out in the end. I had a 3.4 GPA but now i'm at Penn :D u never know what will happen!!!!

but you dont have 4 rejections yet!! keep your head up! strange things happen! i was waitlisted at my IS school, IS schools are not the only place you can go!! they also aren't always your best chance. if your IS school focuses on stats it may be harder for you to get a chance there. each school looks at diff things :)

If your GPA is below 3.2, they look at your application early and either reject or put you back in the "normal" applicant pool.

Sorry y'all. For what it is worth, Penn has one of the more unpredictable selection processes. They passed by a lot of quality applicants last year who got into great schools elsewhere.
