I was wondering if it is a bad idea to send a LOR (written by a program director) when applying to her program? Is this gauche?

I'm sure there are other committee members evaluating my ERAS app, so is this ok? I am deciding whether to request an additional LOR to avoid this issue.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

It's really not an issue. If the PD wrote you a letter, they obviously know you well. Your position on that rank list is driven more by their evaluation of your skills than by letters you have. I would actually encourage you to send the letter -- for fear that some PD with an unstable ego will figure that their letter wasn't "good enough".
