Hi, I know I asked this question before but I didn't get a straight answer. I finished my secondaries around mid October to early November (I know I applied late but I had to save up to pay for my application fees). I only got an interview date from one school but have not heard back from any others. When will I get an interview date from the other schools? Most of my application status says decision still pending. Will I hear back from them in January of 2012? Thanks please help.

You will receive an interview December 7, December 15, and January 10.

I am assuming they will let me choose an interview date for 2012 around early to mid December? I can't tell if you are being sarcastic because those dates are really specific but if you aren't thanks lol. I really hope I get more responses from medical schools this month.

I am being sarcastic. No one on SDN is going to know when you will get interview invitations. You haven't even been complete for a month at some of your schools and you're quite late so I wouldn't expect anything right away. Unfortunately, schools don't let you explain why you were late but merely put your application in their pile and get to it when they can. Usually schools will give you ~1 month notice before your interview date. Some will let you pick the date, others will tell you when to be there. Following the school specific threads for your schools will give you the best idea of possible wait times for each school as well as information about interview scheduling particularities.

ahh thanks oh well I guess I will have to wait.

Not knowing anything about your stats, I'm going to suggest you put 110% into preparing for the interview you do have.

You applied late, and somebody liked you enough to do a quick invite. Jump on that and run with it. You may or may not hear anything else, and it could be March or later.....focus on the positive..you have an interview, now go turn it into an admission.

If they decide to give you an interview the first time that they review your application, it will probably be within 1 to 1.5 months (sometines as quick as a week) so if you dont hear anything by mid-december to early jan then they probably did not yet decide whether they want to interview you or not and they will put off your app for few months (yeah it kinda sucks). I got a couple of those emails saying that my app will be reviewed in couple months again because they did not decide if they want to give me an interview. hope you hear from them soon! good luck!

Sorry but this is hogwash. There are schools that don't do their first review for MONTHS, especially this late in the season with a a backlog building.

A quick interview means they liked you, not hearing anything means NOTHING until it has been several months.

I was complete in July at most schools and was still getting invites in late-Oct when I started withdrawing applications.

ok thanks. I will wait I guess. It really does suck waiting for these interviews lol. i will start practicing interviews real soon.

Nobody knows, maybe you won't get an interview from any other schools. Turning in a secondary isn't an automatic interview you know?

You're lucky you even have an interview after applying that late, make the most of it cause you may not get another.
