Looking to see who else is interested in this program! Hopefully we can get some feedback from people who are currently in the program! I'm definitely interested in the 3 year program that Erie offers!

Well, I am still working on my application. I will be earning a B.S. in Biology/Minor in Chemistry in May.
My GPA is 3.46 overall.
Science GPA is 3.3.
I have 7 years of pharmacy tech/compounding experience.

Did you, or are you planning on taking the pcat?
 
I am waiting for a supplemental. hopefully i get one and a interview. i dont think they have sent out the supplementals yet, at least i dont have one yet. But i looked at last yrs forum and applicants who applied early aug/late july received the supplemental on aug 30th. im hoping next week to hear something!!!! did you apply as well and goodluck
 
Whoops, I missed your earlier post about the supplementals. Yes, I am applying to LECOM. I just e-submit my application this morning. Good luck to you too. I have to study for my september pcat as well lol! :/
 
I am taking it in September also. Do you have to take the pcat for Lecom, Erie if you have a bachelors degree? I know for Lecom-B you do not have to take it. I would assume that it would be the same for Erie as well. I may be wrong.

Also, for those of you who are applying would you mind sharing your stats?

no if you have a bachelors its not required. im taking it god forbid i dont get in 🙁 but let me think positively lol

I applied to this school too, but I haven't receive my supplement app yet.......Hoping to receive it soon.............
I am also taking the pcat this september! havn't really studied much........any studying tips?
 
I am right there with you jillybeans1. It seems like an ideal program! 3 year accelerated, cost of tuition, location isn't necessarily my first pick, but the cost easily makes up for that! Have you been studying for the pcat much? if so, what study methods have you been utilizing. Also, why is LECOM-E your first choice?

As for studying tips, I really dont know what to say. I have been using kaplan and pcat professor. Hope this helps!
 
Supp App request email arrived =D

LECOM does not require a personal statement or response to an essay question in the supplemental application... Hooray!

And FYI.
If you have a 4-year undergraduate degree or will complete a 4-year degree by spring 2013, you are not required to take the PCAT. If you do not have a 4-year degree, you must complete the PCAT test. The January 2013 PCAT is the last exam we will accept for the 2013-2014 application year.

so I take it that you are not taking the pcat oogin or are you? Also, would you mind sharing your stats?
 
Does everyone recieve a supplement application, or if you recieve one then you get an interview? I'm just not sure.

I am not sure if I am understanding you correctly. So there is no essay questions at all on the LECOM supplemental application? I don't want to get my hopes up and be happy lol. What is on the supplemental application then? Also, when was your pharmCAS application mailed out? Thanks! 🙂

I already took PCAT on July 2012, composite score 81.
Science GPA 3.93
Overall GPA 3.67
One year pharmacy shadowing experience
Volunteer at Red Cross and local hospital

I'm not sure. I only received an email that said LECOM received my PharmCAS and next step for me is to complete supp app. They did not mention anything about passing min requirements or of any screening process.

There is no essay for LECOM supp app. You just need to pay $50 fee and state if you are a citizen or an alien. My PharmCAS was mailed out on 8/8/12 and received by LECOM on 08/27/12.
 
Thanks for the information. I am completing a BS, but I am going to take the pcat in Sept. However, I do not feel prepared! Any advice for the pcat?

PCAT section of student doctor forum has ton of helpful info.

One thing I strongly recommend is that you take as many timed exams as you possibly can. Make sure you are used to solving questions with a super human speed. I for one could not finish all questions in time.
 
OOGIN Do you know from previous people if they send out 2 diff kinds of supp apps? one stating you meet min requirments and the just pay the 50?
 
I am a P1 at LECOM Erie, let me know if you have any questions. We had our first exam today and have 2 more this week soooo I will try and find time to respond to any questions anybody may have.

Same here. But I haven't submitted the supplement yet. Since its not rolling admission, I was thinking I will just submit it later after I take the PCAT or should I submit it asap?

Sup application will come in a couple weeks after they get PharmCAS stuff. Don't worry it will come, I had my interview in February or March (I think) and lots of people from the interview are my classmates right now. As far as exams (1st one went well) but they come rapid fire once the first two weeks of lecturing are done. We have like 20 exams in 9 weeks so you do the math. (that is excluding the first two weeks bc there are no exams) Class is awesome because if you are a motivated studier you have a lot more free time than you may think. 8-12 everyday except monday 8-2 bc of lab and thursday 9-11. Lab is split on mondays and thursdays. Soo i get a short thursday.😀 There are test blocks on tuesday and thursday mornings so most likely you will have an exam every tuesday and thursday until the end of the quarter.
 
Rph2015...I know school just started but have you got a chance to check out the social scene?...how is Erie? are there things to do there?...and what is your suggestion on how to get in to this school?

nonscience gpa: 3.93
science gpa: 3.87
PCAT: 64
Pharmacy tech (inventory specialist)

I took the PCAT before organic and before taking any biology sooo my bio score was like 20 something which really hurt my PCAT🙁 I felt like i was guessing for 90% of the questions.

Don't sweet about the app process. I didn't send my stuff in until December. I got 1 interview in February and literally a week after that interview I heard back from all of my schools. I ended up getting interviews to 6/7 schools I applied to. The school I didn't get an interview needed another LOR which I was already accepted to LECOM sooo I withdrew my app.

Does everyone receive the request to complete the supplemental or is that like the first cut?
 
Does anyone know about housing in Erie? I have looked on craigslist, but everything looks really rough.

Sorry if I wasn't clear >,< Yes I got invited to an interview. I sent in my supp app pretty early though (Aug 27th, as soon as it became available). I'm so scared and excited 😀 This is my Number One School.

Congrats! 👍 That's awesome! I thought you were kidding because they sent me an e-mail saying they don't start reviewing until October 1st...I guess they started early!!! How were you notified?

I just got an interview invitation too!! Kind of nervous and I dont know which date to schedule mine. It is better to schedule in earlier or later? Does it matter?

English is my second language too! Just be confident and practice, mock interviews should help. Will are u planning to schedule ur interview? I am from San Francisco, so I have to fly there..so cant quit sure how to get around

For those who are interested, available interview dates are...

Nov. 6th 13th, 20th
Dec 4th, 11th, 18th

Not too sure on the December dates cause I can't go back to see it anymore 😵 Maybe someone else can confirm when they go in to schedule an interview.

Best of luck to everyone who has not heard yet, and looking forward to meeting some of you on the 13th. 😛 If you are invited to interview, make sure to send them a confirmation email. I'll be flying from California too, 😱

Thank you for your encouragement. I have not scheduled my interview date yet. I wonder why they don't have Saturdays available. All I see are Tuesdays in Nov and Dec. I'm from Stockton, so I have to fly there too.

I see the same dates, and I dislike those dates. They are Tuesdays and I have classes on Tuesday.🙁 I want Saturdays.
