oh nm yes they do, the max limit is 9 credits lol.

so how about it bois and gurls, biochem 1 (3 credits), 2 economic elective (6 credits). doable in 6 weeks? should i just go with biochem 1 and microeconomics? which is only 4 credits, thus is only 7 credits in total?

It took me a few seconds more than it should've, but I think I got what you're saying. I think it's quite doable, provided you're able to devote the time it requires. I myself am taking 15 credits over nine weeks, and I've been able to manage it. I have no doubt you can do the same.

My only question would be: what makes the two economic electives preferable to the microeconomics for you? Is it merely the number of credits/classes, or is there something you like about them in particular? That ought to be the basis of your decision.

i am trying to crank up my gpa as high as it can go before i apply🙂. i apologize for the fail grammar in my original post. of course i am assuming ill get A for all those 3 classes. btw, how are u doing in ur 15 credit classes?

Don't assume you'll get an A - work for it! It's better to put in too much effort and get a higher grade than to put in "just enough" and end up with a B.

For GPA purposes, this seems good. Are you also attending any workshops or seminars? Those work well for my school, and if they're a week long or shorter they don't count towards the credit cap, even though you get credits for them.

My 15 credit classes are going okay. I had a midterm today and I'm anxiously awaiting the results. I studied well, but the test was different than I expected, and covered different parts of the material. I'm hoping for at least an 85% so I have some leeway on the final if I'm to get an A!

Good luck with your summer courses!

If economics is a joke at your institute than do it : ). Be sure to use pickaprof.com when scheduling those classes to make sure you don't get the completely gung-ho teacher for an economics class..

oh thanks, i tends to use ratemyprofessor.com. it apparently failed me earlier since a bio teacher was rated 3.0ish out of 5, i took him, it was the worst class i have ever sat in. i go to stony brook, i dont think they are tough on social sciences like eco, they are big on psy tho.

I took these exact two courses at the same time last summer. Went to biochem in the morning, work during the day, microecon in the evening. Usually went 8am - 8pm but neither was not all that difficult.

Biochem was the first science class I ever got a solid "A" in during college. It's straight memorization and if you put in your hours to study (which you should 'cause it's summer), you will be fine.

Microecon should be a joke. If you're not working or volunteering much, then consider the other econ course as well, but remember that your time is probably spent better taking the two classes and working on ECs.
