I cant decided what to put for the 15th activity for my AMCAS app. Its between

4 months work for homeless in a community garden OR
recreational piano

I have

2 community service/leadership
2 awards
3 medical
3 research
1 paid work
1 conference
1 artistic
1 club

Depending on the awards, you can probably combine them into one category. I know a lot of people who do that because if they listed every single award they got, they would use a majority of their 15 spaces.

Agreed. Awards, publications/abstracts/posters, and shadowing shouldn't take up more than a single space if you are that short on space.

--Put the conference with the research - if it was with one of your 3 research experiences.
--Combined the awards
--include volunteering with homeless.

I'm a non-trad and I did not come close to filling up 15 spaces. I looked at my CV and asked, what can be combined/consolidated and what can be thrown out. You could probably do the same.

I would not try to fill up all of the 15 spaces unless you have 15 things that are substantively different enough that you couldn't consolidate them. It would look like you were just trying to fill up space if you had one for one award then another for another award and then one conference but the research that was presented at that conference listed separately.

One of the researches is about an honors project I completed for the department, its under honors now.

In the same lab where the honors research was done I also assisted with grad students research, another
of the researches.

I figure a departmental honors project and lab assisting are different in my mind.

Should I consolidate those?

^Yes I would, you did research in one lab. It's pretty common to juggle multiple projects when doing research, unless you did something completely different for these projects like clinical work for one and bench work for the other, I'd list them together under research while listing the project titles in the description. If you received any honors or awards as a result of your honors project then you can probably list those separately under awards.

Diversify your activities. Pick the one that will be the most diversifying.
