I seriously doubt it. I mean there are only 16000 total US Med school grads. Of course the FMGs are there but I doubt over 10% of people want ER.

I heard from a program director at one of my interviews that there were about 1400 applicants this year. Don't know if that's true or not...
I also heard that most programs were still interviewing the same number of people, so if people got a good number of interviews they should be in decent shape.
