1st Year Accomodations at RCSI (6yr program)

At the interview, i asked the head of admissions about accomodations and he said that the college does have rooms open for foundation year students.
However, i looked at the accomodation information provided in the letters and was not able to find any information on this. Does anyone know where to get this information and how the whole process works?

And, anyone else in the 6 year program at RCSI starting this fall?

Hey, if your go to the RCSI website, go to "student life" and then click you will see a list of accommodation's that have been inspected and approved by RCSI. I myself think i will being staying in Aungier House.

Are those the accomodations provided by the school? He said we have dorms for 1st year students :S

But i took a look at them, they're nice. Ill probably end up staying in one of the top 2 on the list.

I don't think they are provided by the school (ie you have to book them on your own time) but i have talked with an alumni who went to RCSI and she told me most people in 1st year stay in Aungier or Mercer Court.

I dont think the school provides accommodations for any students, he probably meant they have the nearby accommodations that are on that list.

Usually students stay at Mercer Court of Millin House. Both are really close to the school. Although you have to apply for both, these are the two residences RCSI students stay at for their first year only. After that you are on your own for finding an apartment. So yes, these are the residences for RCSI. I will be staying at Mercer, my brother (who is in year 3 of the 5 year program) has said this is the better residence. It is also a 2 minute walk from the collage. And they are renovating Mercer this summer!

I would say book pretty soon. Although apparently Mercer wasn't completely full last year... It definitely is the more popular one though.

Hey, I just got accepted into the 6yr program too. Does anyone know when is fresher's week? Is it just the first week of school? Also, if you get mercer court, when can you move in?
