So I got a D in ochem1 and a D+ in ochem2 but I retook ochem 1 with a B and ochem 2 with an A and my DAT for ochem was 21.
besides that, the other "bad" grade I have is a C+ in physics but the rest are Bs or As. is this too much of a weakness that I should do a post-bacc/take another year off or is this something I can kind of explain?

p.s. i'm a senior debating on applying 2015 or 2016 cycle so 1 or 2 years off!

any answers/opinions are appreciated, thanks!

21 dat and you got ds??? Damn that blows. As long as you have the min gpa go for it. Just youll be asked about the ds on the interview. You have solid dat scores apply to every private school within that all the public schools near you and oos friendly schools. All you need is one interview and u can crush it. Good luck!!!

What's your cum & sci GPAs?

yikes so, it's kind of on the low end but i'm at a 3.3 cGPA and 3.1 sGPA (not including senior year) and some extra ones i plan on taking after graduations. im at a pretty tough top-tier grade-deflation school, but i don't know how much that helps?

thanks, that was actually really relieving to here! would it be ok with my current GPA though?

Dont get too relieved. 3.1 sgpa isnt going to get any schools excited. Especially if thats your school gpa. The adea gpa is going to avg in the ds when your school gpa ignores retaken classes.

Go buy the adea book. From there you can see the avg gpas of each school. Get rdy and apply early for the next cycle. Dont apply to ones if you see the school has like a 3.6 avg or oos unfriendly ones. Make a list of schools ud think ure competitive for and just go for it!! All you need is one.

And think about the upside an extra yr doing what you want. Whats the worst that can happen?
