there is no DO grade replacement policy anymore. If I got 2 F's in the same exact class (say English 1) if I take it and get an A would that replace both F's or no?
How would I replace both F's according to the DO grade replacement policy?
You can't replace, it's carved in the rock. How would I replace both F's according to the DO grade replacement policy?

2 Fs will be kept on the transcripts and theoretical A will also be recorded.
As someone accepted to a DO school, this thread really irritates me... It's these types of threads that give DO applicants a bad name, and although I do feel for those that grade replacement affected this year, I'm so glad that grade replacement is no more.
lol, you are very late to the party my friend. There is no grade replacement. And after failing the class twice with a Strong F both times. OP, i look forward to your third attempt
Why would i look forward to anyone failure? If anything, i wanted to hear about your success, so long as you have recognized what went wrong during the first two times. Also thanks for the added detailsNot that late, apparently it was changed this year. And Fs were bc of circumstances outside life. Why do you look forward to ppl's failures?
Some Dish soap companies would disagree with you.Fs are stuck on your transcript like grease on a pan.

Also i don't see how it's not that late since we both can't take advantage of it.
High horse? I'm a first gen college student who went to a community college for 2 years. I was probably taking out my bottled up frustration of grade replacement out on your thread, so I apologize.Oh get off your high horse and f**k yourself.
The DO grade replacement is something everyone knows about as is the FACT that DO schools are easier to get into.
I understand what you feel, but I don't think that they are making it harder on purpose. I think it's just a principle of supply and demand. There are thousands of candidates with above average stats. Still hundreds of candidates with low 3.0 GPA get in.They're making it harder and harder so people who are passionate about medicine but with hard lives can't become doctors but status seekers with everything handed to them can.
Like herpes, Fs are forever...
i was wondering about this just didnt feel like calculating my self....It takes 6 A's to counterbalance 2 F's for a 3.0. Ouch.

Non prereq englishWhat class is the "F" actually in?
It would make a big difference if it was a pre-req. vs. non-prereq., science vs non-science, etc.
Best I can do is 3.0-3.2 at this point.It takes 6 A's to counterbalance 2 F's for a 3.0. Ouch.
Thank you for the inspiration. Any tips? There is three Fs and two Ds on my transcripts and I got accepted
What is it?My science gpa is very high, hoping that will help enough
Non prereq english
Don't give up. Don't get more FsThank you for the inspiration. Any tips?
Congrats again but you have a great Mcat score though. Your Mcat score could have forgiven your past transcript sins. I'm not saying you shouldn't encourage OP but your circumstances are different. There is three Fs and two Ds on my transcripts and I got accepted
They haven't taken the MCAT yet. Nothing wrong with encouraging. There is ways to fix.Congrats again but you have a great Mcat score though. Your Mcat score could have forgiven your past transcript sins. I'm not saying you shouldn't encourage OP but your circumstances are different.

No, not everyone deserves to be a doctor and there are lots of people with hard lives that have good grades and get accepted. Some of my classmates fall into this category and are very inspiring. The schools don’t owe you anything.I mistook your encouragement for sarcasm. Sorry I appreciate it. I can still apply to MD schools but the DO grade replacement was a nice backup. They're making it harder and harder so people who are passionate about medicine but with hard lives can't become doctors but status seekers with everything handed to them can.
Personal problems, financial struggles etcOk so it was English, I just wanted to make sure because your post made it sound like it could have been something else.
So, my question would be, why did you fail it twice? Content? Studying? Personal problems?

Solid. Thank youDon't give up. Don't get more Fs

At both schools I went, withdrawing while failing is an F anyways.Word of advice, OP. If problems like this arise again, WITHDRAW.
Do not start medical school until you’re sure they won’t happen again.

It would say F.School dependent. Mine didn’t do that.
But would it be marked differently on the transcript? And would your GPA take a hit?
