This may be a stupid question, but at least it's not as stupid as not asking, right? I've looked at a few similar threads with this title and none seem to be address my question.

If I've taken Calc 3 in college and then received back credit for Calc 1 and 2, does that count as 2 semesters of college level math? Some dental schools in particular ask for two semesters (one year) of calculus. Does that mean I should have taken whatever comes after calc 3?

EDIT:
I wanted to add that I've already taken a Stats course, and was asking because I learned recently that some schools explicitly state that they don't accept stats as a second math course.

Thanks! I guess I should have mentioned that my question was about schools that don't accept stats as a second math class.

As far as I know, stats, taken in college, is required at several dental schools and accepted at all of them and is generally preferred over advanced calc.

Does 1 semester of Pre-calc (3 credits) and 1 semester of Statistics (3 credits) satisfy the 6-8 credit mathematics requirement (for Stony/Columbia Dental)? Or does it have to be calc 1 & 2 respectively? Not really sure if this is already answered, but I haven't found anything that specifies which ones would suffice.

IMO it really just depends on the specific schools you are applying to. For example, some schools specifically state that AP credits do not count for pre-reqs. They specifically state if you received AP credit for any class that you are using as a pre-req then you need to retake it at a 4 year institution. Granted, those schools may be in the minority with this type of requirement but you just need to be aware that they are out there. I realize your question wasn't about AP, but I believe the analogy would be the same.
