2 weeks after MCAT, I am completely drained out. What should I do?

I took my MCAT on 9/9/10, and I don't know why but if I sit on my desk and stay focused for about 3+ hours, I feel extremely exhausted and stressed out.

The amount of fatigue I feel after 3+ hours is similar to the one I had after studying for MCAT 12~13 hours per day 5~6 days straight. 🙁 I have been doing this for 5 months since last April.

On Monday this week, I was working on a paper until 11:30 pm for about 5 hours then I had a slight fever next day and had to stay at home. wow since when I did get emaciated this much? What a weakling I have become. I cannot go back to my research lab, volunteering and cannot even make progress to girls I have been talking to.

I have been exercising too, have been lifting with my friend who is a personal trainer. What would be the quickest way to recover?

Many of us are in the same boat. Being a premed is not the easiest route to take through undergrad. It's a test to see if you will be able to handle med school. I'm pretty sure any medical school student would agree that it doesn't get much easier once your in med school. Your gonna get stressed out that's a fact and how everyone deals with their own stress varies from person to person.

I suggest giving yourself some time to totally chill out. Listen to music, watch a movie, or just hang out with a friend. MCAT studying involves so much structured time that afterward you just wanna be a couch potato. Give yourself as much of a break as you can afford. Also, it sounds like you might be catching a cold. So drink lots of fluids and get more rest, if you can.

MCAT withdrawal is hard and a semi-serious condition. I would say that just ease back into your old schedule week by week.

Hope this helps,

Party like a rock star. Post-hangover, you will have purged yourself of all that is MCAT.

this happened to me when i first got back to school...just let yourself be lazy honestly. then when your behind in school work get ready to catch back up!

My friend put it best one day after he had taken the MCAT and scored very well. He told me:
"A little piece of me died after that long ordeal, however it showed me that what's left of me is capable of anything."
